Docstoc Releases New Feature to Help Promote, Index, and Store Documents

Docstoc recently released our new multi-tabbed pop-ups (the good kind) that users can access from each of the document display pages.

Now from a single call out bar, you’ll be able to email documents to friends, add tags and change categories to other users documents, rate and review documents, add a document to your personal folders on docstoc, and get the embed code for a document.

Email Documents – now you can import all your contacts from gmail, hotmail, yahoo, aol (and many more), save the in your docstoc address book, to easily send documents you find on docstoc to all your contacts

Add Tags / Change Categories – we rely on our community to help properly index all of our documents to make them easier for you to find. Add tags to another users documents or change the category they put it in. You can set your preferences to automatically allow other users to edit this or to require your approval first. Check out your my settings page.

Rate / Review a Document – We’ve combined the rating and review process so that you can see in all the reviews both what comments users leave about a document and how they rate it.

Add Document to Folder – you can save any document to your “my documents” on your docstoc profile. You can drag and drop documents in-between folders and right click on a document title (from the profile page) to edit, remove, or delete a document.

Embed Documents in Other Websites and Blogs
– grab the embed code for any document on docstoc (docs you upload and docs you find interesting) and embed them (like you would a youtube video) in MySpace, Blogs, Websites or anywhere on the web. This is a great feature when you want to share presentations, scanned documents, or legal complaints (just to name a few).
